Frequently Asked Questions

Since we are the largest manufacturer of button parts, we often get asked the same questions over and over again by our customers. So we thought it would be a great idea to answer some of the most common questions that people have. If you still are unsure of something or still have questions, feel free to contact us and we’ll do our best to help.

A die is the part of the button machine that actually forms the button and seals it together. Often times it is metal and made precisely to the size of the button. Our button machines do not have interchangeable dies.
Mylar are thin plastic sheets used to cover the artwork in the button making process.
A shell is the metal dome-like piece that is the front of the button.
Of course! We manufacture button parts for virtually every button machine out there. Just call us if you are not sure what size you need.
Yes, you can buy your button parts from USA Buttons with no problems whatsoever. Some other desperate manufacturers and sellers of button machines are doing their best to discourage you from buying your button parts from us. Some even say that using our button parts other than theirs will void the warranty of your button machine. Not True. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and general principles of the Federal Trade Commission Act, a manufacturer may not require the use of any brand, including their own, of button parts (or any other article) unless the manufacturer provides the item free of charge under the terms of the warranty. This is a federal law. Anyone providing you with free button parts??

Everyone who has used our products knows the high quality of our products can’t be beat so other button machine and parts manufacturers love to scare you into thinking you must buy their parts from them. Besides, as a practical matter, how would they ever know if you didn’t tell them?

Bottom line is this: We have the highest quality button parts and at very reasonable prices which will save you a lot of money and inconvenience. Buy with confidence, buy from U.S.A. Buttons.

Unlike Badgeaminit, we do not stamp our name on any of our button parts. Never have, never will.
We are the manufacturer of all our button parts, there is no middle man. It amazes people how we can offer such low prices and make quality button parts, but that’s what we do best.

Yes, we do, so please contact us for further information and shipping information for ordering large quantities. Often times, large orders are not sent via package carriers, but rather through trucking companies because it is more economical.
You can figure how much shipping will be via UPS (United Parcel Service) by adding the items you wish to order to the shopping cart. Once you have done this, proceed to the “Checkout” area and fill out the information in the order form. After the information has been filled out completely, the next screen will show you the shipping options and the price of each one.
A collet is a round open ring and is slightly smaller than the shell. It fits inside the shell.
Extreme force is not needed to make buttons. We have designed the dies with heavy springs to do the crimping work for you. Pull the handle down on the shell station until you feel the shell “snap” up into the upper die. When sealing the pinned back, pull the handle down and apply pressure only until you meet resistance.
No, you cannot use the shell or the mylar again because it has already been crimped and will not fit in the die. You can use the back with pin or collet again.
